Social Work
Internships - Master's Level Students
In partnership with the
College of Social Work at USC, P&A provides year long internship
opportunities for advanced year MSW students who are enrolled in the
Organizations and Communities track.
P&A begins interviewing potential interns
in February and March each year to prepare for the upcoming academic year. P&A has
the capacity to and is willing to take up to four qualified students who are
determined to have a good fit with the organization and its mission for advanced year practice. The
selection process is usually complete by the beginning of April.
Once acquainted with the organization, an
MSW intern has the opportunity and is expected to seek out projects which will
advance his or her learning and are integrated with MSW curriculum. Students have access to P&A staff, board
members, partnering agencies, government bodies, consumers, and of course
field supervision. Click here to see a list of potential learning
opportunities at P&A for advanced year students.
One field placement is still available for
the 2007-2008 academic year. If you are interested in learning more about
interning as an MSW student at P&A, please contact
Gloria Prevost or
Melissa Reitmeier for advanced year oportunities.
P&A is a LEGALLY based advocacy organization. P&A employs attorneys to
pursue formal legal resolution of problems for people with disabilities
when necessary. Currently, P&A has 12 attorneys on staff. In the past we
have provided clerkships to USC law students under the
James Louis Petigru Public Interest Law Society. The deadline
for submitting the application is usually in March of every year.
Click here for more details regarding the grant . Inquiries for clerkships should be
directed to Dave Zoellner, Esquire as P&A MAY have clerk positions open either during the summer months OR during the school year on a part-time basis. Depending on your interests and P&A's
legal needs, appropriate placement within the organization shall
be determined during through email and/or the interview process and/or shortly thereafter.
