A Spartanburg native
now living in Moore, SC with her 16 year old daughter Liza, Geri
spent the better part of her adult life in Stamford, Connecticut
where she was fortunate enough to experience the wide range of
the cultural arts in the metropolitan are northeast. The Stamford
Historical Society and the League of 100 Black Women were
springboards to her first exhibitions of hand -painted greeting
cards and T-shirts. While residing in Stamford, Geri
moonlighted in graphic houses where she gained her graphic
arts knowledge. After moving back to Spartanburg, she
pursued of a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Converse College
and will graduate this May. She has a permanent exhibition in
the Montgomery Building at Converse College and is presently
employed with the Spartanburg County Museum of Arts C.O.L.O.R.S
program. Geri will be showcasing Intaglio print, a still life,
and jewelery in the Celebrating Abilities Silent Art Auction.
